Bio

Yillah is a Brazilian-American artist who was born in Brasília, Brasil, and who currently lives and works in Washington, D.C.

Yillah’s parents were avid art collectors, as her father was a cultural attaché for the U.S. Embassy and frequently organized exhibitions. Consequently, Yillah grew up influenced by the art in her house, most notably Latin American paintings and indigenous pottery.

Yillah completed her art foundation courses at Virginia Commonwealth University then went on to complete her BA in Art (Studio) at George Mason University. She later returned to GMU for an MS in Peace Operations, believing that the key to peace lies in the exchange and universality of art and culture.

Her graphics and photography are expertly tailored to her clients’ needs and branding guidelines, e.g., brochures for government agencies, posters for events, portraits for album covers, headshots, etc.

Her fine art – paintings, photography, drawings, and multimedia pieces – can be found in private collections across the U.S., Brasil, Ireland, England, and Portugal.
